La Luna Vita

Last week I traveled to the jungle region of the country, a small city called Iquitos. According to The Guardian, it is considered one of the world’s most remote cities. There are only two ways of getting there: by airplane or by boat. There are no roads that connect it to another city due to it’s surrounding geography.

The entire experience was nonetheless unforgettable. Even though I’m terrified of insects --and oh boy, there you find all kinds and sizes-- the view was worth it. The Amazon river is simply majestic. Up from the sky it is impossible not to recognize its’ swirls in the midst of the green rainforest. While navigating in the river itself, you can feel the relentless current in the form of soft sand-colored waves. The best part of traveling to remote areas are the night skies filled luminous little dots.

So here are some photographs, 'til next time!
